Welcome to the Life Skills Development Programme

This is a safe, empowering space for young women to grow, reflect, and build the skills that shape a meaningful life. Whether you're navigating friendships, emotions, decisions, or dreams, this programme is here to support your journey with clarity, compassion, and courage.

What Are Life Skills?

The Core Life Skills (WHO Framework)

Life skills are the abilities that help us understand ourselves, relate to others, and respond wisely to everyday challenges. They’re not just academic or technical—they’re deeply human.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), life skills are “abilities for adaptive and positive behaviour that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life”.

These skills live inside us. We’re born with the capacity to develop them, and they grow through experience, reflection, and practice.

Why Life Skills Matter

Life skills help us:

  • Make thoughtful decisions

  • Manage emotions and stress

  • Build healthy relationships

  • Communicate clearly

  • Solve problems creatively

  • Stay grounded in our values

They’re essential for:

  • Knowing yourself as God created you

  • Mental wellbeing

  • Confidence and self-awareness

  • Success in school, work, and relationships

  • Navigating adulthood with resilience

  • Building a life that feels true to who you are

How Do We Develop Life Skills?

We develop life skills through:

  • Real-life scenarios and guided reflection

  • Interactive activities that build awareness and confidence

  • Safe conversations with trusted adults and peers

  • Faith, culture, and personal experience, which shape how we understand and apply these skills

Our programme uses microlearning—short, focused lessons—to help you grow one skill at a time, at your own pace.
